USA Visit Visa (B1/B2) from Pakistan

A USA visit visa from Pakistan is a B-1/B-2 visitor visa, a nonimmigrant visa issued by the U.S. Department of State for temporary travel to the United States for business, tourism, family visits or medical treatment. You apply by completing the online DS-160 form, paying the application fee, booking an interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate and attending it in person. Hashim Visa Consultancy, based in Faisalabad, guides applicants through the DS-160, the appointment booking and interview preparation. The decision rests with a consular officer.

What the B1/B2 Visa Is

The B-1/B-2 visa is the standard USA visitor visa. The B-1 category covers business travel, and the B-2 category covers tourism, visiting family or friends and medical treatment. The two are often applied for together. It is not a work visa, a student visa or a route to permanent residence, and you must be able to show that you plan to return to Pakistan after your visit.

Who the Visa Is For

  • Tourists visiting the United States for sightseeing or leisure
  • Family members and friends of people living in the United States
  • Business travellers attending meetings, conferences or negotiations, without taking up employment
  • Patients travelling for medical treatment

Who Can Apply

Any Pakistani passport holder planning a temporary visit for one of these purposes can apply. Each traveller, including every child, needs their own DS-160 and their own application. The State Department says applicants qualify on the strength of their own residence and ties abroad, such as work, business, property or family in Pakistan, rather than on promises from people in the United States. A letter of invitation or affidavit of support is not needed to apply and is not a deciding factor. Pakistan is not part of the Visa Waiver Program, so Pakistani travellers need a visa, and Pakistan is not named in the State Department’s list of countries under full or partial visa suspension, which was last updated on 2 February 2026. Rules can change, so check before you pay.

How We Guide You Through the DS-160, Appointment and Interview

Why Hashim Visa Consultancy Is the Right Choice

Choosing someone to help with a U.S. visa application is a decision you should be able to check. Here is what we do, what we do not do, and the facts about us that you can verify.

What we do

As a USA visit visa consultant, Hashim Visa Consultancy guides you through the DS-160, helps you book your appointment and prepares you for the interview. We keep you in control of your own application: you provide the information, you review every answer, and you remain responsible for the form. Our visa services page lists the other destinations we cover, and you can read more about Hashim Visa Consultancy.

What we do not do

We do not speed up appointments, influence consular officers or promise a visa or an interview result. We do not tell you what to say, and we do not ask you to give false or exaggerated information. We are not part of the U.S. government, and we are not the U.S. Embassy or a visa application centre.

Government fees and our fees

The visa application fee is paid to the U.S. government through the embassy's payment process and is listed on the State Department's fee list. It is separate from any consultancy service fee.

Questions worth asking any consultant

  • Is there a physical office you can visit?
  • Do they let you complete and review your own DS-160, with your own email and details?
  • Do they make clear that no one can guarantee a visa or an appointment date?
  • Do they use only the official payment and booking channels?
  • Do they refuse to give you scripted answers or false documents?

These are fair questions to put to us as well.

Visa Process Steps

No. Card title Card line Supporting text
01
DS-160 Form
Complete your online visa application. Each traveller completes a separate DS-160 on the State Department's CEAC website, uploads a photo and prints the confirmation page with its barcode.
02
Visa Fee
Pay the application fee. The non-refundable application fee is US$185 per applicant on the State Department's fee list. Pay by the method shown on the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan's visa page and keep the receipt.
03
Appointment Booking
Schedule your interview. Book your interview in the embassy's appointment system using your DS-160 barcode. Wait times differ by post and season, so book as early as you can.
04
Visa Interview
Attend your interview in person. Almost all applicants need an in-person interview, with limited waivers. Bring your passport, your DS-160 confirmation page, your appointment confirmation and the documents the embassy asks for. For general guidance, see our documentation page.
05
Visa Decision
Receive your visa decision. The consular officer decides on your application. If it is approved, the visa is placed in your passport, but a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer still decides on entry. If it is refused, a new application needs a new DS-160 and a new fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. A USA visa for Pakistani citizens is normally a B-1/B-2 visitor visa, because Pakistan is not in the Visa Waiver Program. As of the State Department’s notice last updated on 2 February 2026, Pakistan is not on the list of suspended countries. Check the notice again before you pay any fee.

The application fee for a B-1/B-2 visa is US$185 per applicant, and it is non-refundable. The State Department’s fee list shows the current amount, and other fees can apply, so confirm the full cost with the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan before you pay.

No. The State Department says a letter of invitation or affidavit of support is not needed to apply for a visitor visa and is not one of the factors used to decide the application. Your own ties to Pakistan matter most.

Almost always. Since 1 October 2025, nearly all applicants need an in-person interview, including children under 14 and adults over 79. A limited waiver applies to some B-1/B-2 renewals within 12 months of the prior visa’s expiry, if you apply where you live, have never been refused and have no apparent ineligibility. An officer can still ask for an interview.

No. The consular officer decides every application, and no consultant can influence that decision. We guide you through the DS-160, the booking and what to expect at the interview, so you arrive prepared, but the answers must be yours and they must be true.

No. A visa lets you travel to a U.S. port of entry and ask to enter. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer decides whether to admit you and for how long.
